COFFEE MORNING

A big thank you  to everyone who came to the coffee morning and helped us raise the super sum of £1592-38 in total.  Also, thanks to all those who manned the stalls, sold raffle tickets, brought things for the sale, and to those in the kitchen producing pancakes and tea for everyone.  A really good start to the Christmas season, and a great help to winter feed bills!
Remember the Prize Giving is next Saturday 2-4pm.

LATEST

Hamish and Fraser Smith very kindly donated straw for us this winter, 30 bales  - the ponies will still get their amazing deep beds!   Thanks from all of us.

Work is about to start on the foundations for a new 2 horse stable unit, which will be used as an isolation unit for new ponies.  We had problems with a cough this summer and had to stop all riding for 2-3 weeks, so this should help prevent that happening again.

ANOTHER NEW PONY

SOPHIE has just arrived at the centre this week, and we hope she will be a good replacement for Lola.  She is five years old, 14.2, a lightweight cob who is also reasonably narrow which will suit some of our riders, and she seems to have a very good temperament.  At the moment she is just settling in, but will be getting accustomed to the school sometime soon.

SEPTEMBER - so far

Lola has been sold to her breeder, so she is going to a really good home.  She was just a little too forward-going for us, but should be a lovely ride for someone.  Robin the new pony has already been used in the school and is looking good.

The Walter Craig Trust through Blackadders in Dundee have given us £5000 which is a wonderful donation and will be a real help to the Centre.

The RDA SCOTTISH SUPRA REGIONAL CONFERENCE is on Wednesday 21st October 2015 at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre, Oatridge EH52 6NH.  If you want to go, contact Elinor as she has the forms, and can send a group entry.  There will be a coach, picking up at Tesco, Kingswells, Dundee,  at about 8.00am.

OUR NEW PONY, ROBIN

Robin has just come to join us and so far has settled in well, being turned out with Max for company.  Later on he will be introduced to the others in the field.  He is 13.2 hh, 9 years old, and piebald; it is hoped that he will replace Robbie though that will be difficult!

JULY

Haymaking started on 18th July so we are hoping the weather holds and it can be all baled before the rain.  The ponies are now enjoying their summer break; wet weather doesn't bother them, just more mud to roll in!
