COFFEE MORNING
Thank you all for supporting the coffee morning with baking, bric a brac, and everything you donated. It raised the fantastic sum of £1149.86, (including the raffle) which is an enormous help with costs over the winter. We're all very grateful!

SHOW PROVIDES FUNDING FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Joanne's show last weekend did really well, and she made enough to provide some of the funding needed for the special Olympics riders. Thanks to her and everyone who supported it!

GLASGOW COMPETITION
Congratulations to our three riders who went to Glasgow to compete at the RDA centre there.
Ashley, Sian and Nathan did really well. Sian got a first, Ashley a 2nd and Nathan a fourth, which is wonderful especially as they were riding ponies they didn't know. A great result.
They also met up with Nathan Jack, who is the other member of the Tayside Special Olympic Equestrian Team - and our Nathan got to ride his pony in the competition today too.

MORE NEWS
Three of our riders (Ashley, Sian and Nathan) have been selected to go to the Special Olympics in Sheffield in 2017 as part of the Equestrian Team; four riders are going from the area, so Angus RDA will be well represented.
To help with some funding for their places, we are having a small show on Saturday 8th October, which is open to the public for competing and watching. . (See Facebook page for more details.)
We would like to thank Zara Aitken, aged 12, from Brechin. She held a Bingo Tea and raised the fantastic sum of £320 which she presented to us this morning.
Also thanks to Dale and Trudy Murray (Riley's mum and dad) who took part in a 50 day 5km challenge and raised the fantastic amount of £580.50 for us; an amazing effort.

MRS JEAN THOMSON
We were very sad to hear that our chairman Mrs Jean Thomson passed away on 31st July; she will be very much missed by all who knew her. Although recently she had not been as involved with the group so much because of her health, Angus RDA owes a great deal to her.

ERIN
Erin has been lame for a little, with no very obvious cause. The vet has now x-rayed Erin's foot and she has a cracked bone, which will mean at least 6-8 weeks rest, and she may need special shoes to
ease the pressure. We are keeping our fingers crossed that after a couple of months she should be back in light work again.

LATEST PONY NEWS
Hamish has now gone on loan to a new home as we felt he had done enough RDA work for the moment and would enjoy a change of scene for a while. He has done us really proud for a good many years now, with lots of different riders. We all wish him well in his new home.
Oreo, a skewbald mare with a beautiful long mane has arrived and we hope she will take up the place. She has passed the vet, so will start training. She has been a family pony and also at a riding school, so shouldn't take too long to settle in.
